Some of What You'll Do:

The School Therapist provides direct behavioral health services to children in Head Start and elementary schools (to age 8) and their families including intake assessment services, individual/family/group therapy, and crisis intervention designed to advance understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student success. They will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with the parent/guardian of each student (if appropriate); complete treatment plans and plan updates and all charting requirements including online data entry of medical/behavioral health information; provide consultation for school staff regarding behavioral health issues of students (as appropriate) in accordance with all privacy laws, rules, and regulations; and conduct group therapy and lead parent education groups as necessary.

What We Require:

  • Master's in counseling, psychology, social work, or related human services field
  • Appropriate WA state licensure (associate licensure accepted)
  • At least 3 years prior experience in providing direct patient services to families and high-need children with social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues, preferably within a school setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • WA licensure

Salary: Depends on qualifications and experience

This position is a part of a union (OPEIU Local 11)
