Some of What You'll Do:
The cook/housekeeper will prep,
prepare, and plate meals for our clients in the Wellness and Recovery Center.
Serve and prepare meals according following all department of health
regulations. Maintain food inventory levels, pick up groceries and properly label
and store food. This position is also responsible for cleaning and proper
sanitation of dishes, as well as dining areas and kitchen. General unit
housekeeping including but not limited to showers, common areas, bathrooms as
well as washing and folding laundry.
Summary of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prep, prepare and
plate client meals.
- Track and accommodate
clients' dietary restrictions.
- Log temperatures for
each client meal following all DOH regulations.
- Properly store and
label food according to DOH regulations.
- Clean and sanitize
all dishes, dining areas and kitchen.
- Inventory and order
frozen meals and groceries with weekly pick up.
- Prepare and stock
dining rooms with snacks for clients to access.
- Clean and sanitize
client showers after client use.
- General housekeeping
for common client areas and bathrooms.
- Wash, fold and put
away laundry.
- Clean/sanitize and turnover
client rooms upon client discharges.
- Identify needs not
provided by CW staff and report them to the appropriate Therapist
- Demonstrate skill in
working with challenging and vulnerable populations, including those with
mental illness.
- Be helpful,
respectful, approachable and team oriented.
- Manage time effectively, including but not limited to planning and being
punctual in person and with work performed.
- Work efficiently both
independently and as part of a team.
- Build strong working
relationships and a positive work environment.
- Be receptive to
feedback, willing to learn, and willing to embrace continuous improvement
- Attend all
appropriate staff, organizational, and external meetings as assigned
- Assist in other programs
when assigned by supervisor

What We Require:
- High school diploma
or equivalent
- Must have or be able
to obtain a food handlers card
- Current Driver's License
and active auto insurance
Salary: Starting at $15.84
This position is a part of a union (OPEIU Local 11)
