Some of What You'll Do:

The medical LPN provides direct and indirect medical and non-medical services. LPN provides education and consultation to clients, their families and care providers in compliance with all applicable Washington State codes, policies, and procedures of CW.

Summary of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Function effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Provide triage for doctors and ARNPs/Physician assistants.
  • Initiate and/or implement protocols appropriately and accurately.
  • Administer psychotropic medications, including injections as ordered by M.D., ARNP, or Physician Assistant.
  • Maintain accurate up to date records.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, which may include performing CPR.
  • Communicate appropriate information to fellow staff members and referral sources.
  • Order laboratory tests under direction of doctor, ARNP or Physician Assistant.
  • Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan including self-care past discharge, available resources, and plans for follow-up care.
  • Attend and participate in medical and other team meetings.
  • Work independently within scope of practice.
  • Support Suboxone treatment team.
  • Be helpful, respectful, approachable and team oriented.
  • Effective time management including but not limited to planning ahead where possible, be punctual in person and with work performed.
  • Build strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
  • Be receptive to feedback, willing to learn, and embrace continuous improvement.
  • Complete all documentation, reporting, and other paperwork per agency standards.
  • Attend of all appropriate staff, organizational, and external meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The Medical LPN must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school and possess a current license (in compliance with Chapter 18.88 RCW) as an LPN.  General experience a minimum knowledge and/or experience in management of intoxicated and chemically dependent persons is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support for healthcare workers credentialed by the American Heart Association (AHA) prior to start date.
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.

Salary: $25.62 per hour

This position is a part of a union (OPEIU Local 11)
